Cvt whining noise
I had a whining noise from about 37-40 mph (@ 16,000 miles). I was told by my dealership that it doesn't affect the drive-ability or safety of the car, but that it's just incredibly annoying. If you take it to the dealer they'll likely swap out the CVT (there's a TSB out for the CVT whine).I did hear a faint whine in that especially when getting on it. Keep in mind a cvt doesn't technically have any gears. While some can simulate gears most will just let your motor rev up to redline and hold it there and then accelerate the vehicle using the transmission rather than the motor. Dec 15, 2014. If the noise goes away when you touch the throttle or put it in neutral, it sounds like your belt deflection is a "little" on the tight side but perfectly ok. If it creeps ahead in gear or keeps doing it in neutral, you will have to adjust your belt deflection by shims in behind the secondary clutch.A whine noise heard during acceleration. This noise is ongoing when engine is running/idling with transmition in Park or Neutral position but stops as soon as shifted to Drive or Reverse (without driving).
